Cultivating Community, Growing Food Together
Welcome To Our Website!
Our mission
As Volunteers, our goal is to help people grow crops on their properties
The Collective Gardening Team is dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle and communities. The food industry has become a major concern, and we believe that caring about the Planet will guide our steps toward a desperately needed shift.
Get involved
Whether you have a green thumb or unused land, there's a place for you in the Garden Collective.
For volunteers
Lend your time and passion to help grow fresh food for our community. No experience necessary, just stamina, willingness to learn, and contribute. It is a work trade, and volunteers receive produce at harvest time. Ideally, you must be living in the area and commit from April 1 through September. We also expect you to have basic gardening hand tools and to donate at least 8 hours per week.

For property owners
Every property has different needs. Even if you have a front-yard or backyard garden, you are encouraged to get in touch with the Farming Working Group of Embudo Valley Regional Acequia Association (EVRAA). Having access to irrigation is crucial.

For the community
Our vision is to encourage community gardens to mushroom everywhere, not only locally but globally. This project is not about competition but promoting food as medicine and, more importantly, changing market attitudes, as healthy food shouldn't be more expensive.
For sustainable living
In this economic environment, we must prepare and start working collectively, encouraging people to come together as a community to become voluntarily self-sufficient.
Nothing is too wild. If the project gains momentum in 2027, forest gardens are also part of our vision.
We recommend the free documentary "Food Matters", a hard-hitting, fast-paced look at our current state of health. Inquiring minds will find it on YouTube.

About us
The Collective Gardening Team is organized by Celine-Brigitte Kayser, a resident of Dixon. Celine has 7 years of experience in farming. In NM, FL and MO. She is always eager to learn.
In our dreams, we also consider launching a (real) community market in 2027, selling very affordable produce and transforming Dixon into a "forest/community garden" over the next 3 years.
In 2026, we're going to start with 3 parcels whose owners have expressed a strong interest in growing crops with the help of 10 or 12 committed volunteers. In reality, with both properties combined, we've close to 4+ acres available for this project that will span over 2 or 3 years. We will not add other projects to our schedule unless more Volunteers enter the picture.
It is amazing. Two months ago, we were wondering where to find our generous landowners. Then all of a sudden, good news poured in.
